Get it? She's looking... What To Look For In a Web Designer
Blah....

Selecting a Network/Systems Administrator
You can have the flashiest web site in the world and it won't do you any good if it is being served off an unstable machine.

For a smaller site that doesn't generate very much traffic you will most likely be looking for a web host. Select a service that offers excellent technical support available via email AND by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Ask for references and check them. Ask how long they have been in business and how many clients they host. Find out if they have the capability to run ASP, PHP, JSP and CGI. Ask how much they charge for additional email accounts. Find out where they are located and make sure they are close to where your target audience is.

If you decide to pull your services in-house, it is a good idea to use a consultant. Select someone with experience setting up large networks with several page servers. Get references and check them. Avoid paying an hourly fee because this type of work generally takes longer than is estimated. Plus, if you agree upon a set price, you can assure a quick turn-around. Make sure you have all the username and passwords before the job is completed. Ask about redundancy and security.
